How To Clean

Alito is a durable, non-porous natural quartz surface that makes cleaning effortless. With proper care and maintenance, along with a few helpful industry tips, stubborn stains, spills, and messes can be easily managed, keeping your surface looking pristine.

1. Daily Cleaning

Alito recommends the following options for everyday cleaning:

2. Natural & Synthetic Oils (e.g., Olive Oil, Canola Oil)

Oils on the surface can leave behind a messy, smudged finish and cause light reflections. To remove oil stains, Alito suggests:

Option 2: A mild, alcohol-based degreaser, such as Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner, or rubbing alcohol.

3. Cosmetics (e.g., Hair Shampoo, Creams, Makeup)

Cosmetic stains can be a concern, but don’t worry—Alito has you covered! To clean cosmetic products, Alito recommends:

Tip: After using Hydrogen Peroxide, be sure to remove any residue to maintain the brilliance of your Alito surface.

4. Metals (e.g., Kitchen Tools, Metal Pots, Knife Marks)

Metal marks on quartz can sometimes resemble scratches but are usually easy to remove. Alito recommends:

Use a white latex eraser. Gently rub the affected area until the mark disappears, then clean the surface using one of the daily cleaning solutions.

Tip: When cleaning any surface, use only the natural weight of your hand to avoid causing dull spots or damage.

5. Metal Rust Stains

For rust stains, follow these steps: 

1. Soak a cloth with Oxalic Acid or Bar Keepers Friend and apply to the stain for 10 minutes.

2. If the stain persists, reapply but do not leave it on for more than 30 minutes.

3. After the stain is removed, clean the surface with water or a soap & water solution.

6. Food Stains (e.g., Food Coloring, Herbs & Spices, Red Wine, Mustard, Coffee, Tea, Fruits)

To clean food stains, Alito recommends:

Option 2: Soak a cloth with 50% bleach concentration and place it on the stain for 10 minutes. If the stain remains, reapply, but don’t leave on for more than 30 minutes.

7. Ink, Water-Based Markers, and Print Transfer Marks

To clean food stains, Alito recommends:
