Product Care
Whether you’re refreshing your countertop, redesigning your space from scratch, or starting a new build project, we’ll let you know what to expect throughout each process.
Care and Maintenance
Caring for your Alito investment is easy. Our countertops never require sealing, polishing, or reconditioning and are stain resistant. Just use a little warm water, soft cotton cloth, and mild soap, if desired.
Surface Damage
We make Alito products to be durable, though any surface can be damaged or chipped in wrong circumstances. Hitting edges around sinks could cause chips. Cutting on a Alito surface could show scratch marks on our more monotone designs. It is best to always use a cutting board.
Heat
Sudden or rapid temperature changes near edges or prolonged exposure on top could damage natural stone surfaces. We recommend you use a closed-weave hot pad or solid trivet such as a breadboard under pots and pans, electric frying pans or griddles, slow cookers, air fryers, roaster ovens, and heat lamps.
Stain Resistance
Alito quartz countertops are nonporous and non-absorbent—making them resistant to stains, reducing potential for bacterial growth, and eliminating the need to seal. Any residue can be simply removed with warm water, a soft cotton cloth, and mild soap, if desired.
What to avoid
To keep your countertops in prime condition, please observe the following precautions:
Prohibited cleaners
Refrain from using bleach, oven cleaners, Comet®, Soft Scrub®, S.O.S®, pads, pumice-based products, paint removers, furniture strippers, tarnish or silver cleaners, and similar items.
Additional Product Information
Material
Alito products are crafted from pure natural quartz stone. Expect unique variations in color, pattern, size, and shade, which are inherent characteristics of the material.
Design details
Color blotches are intentionally included in many designs to enhance natural beauty. Samples are small cuts from larger slabs and may not fully reflect the final product’s design. These variations do not affect performance and are not grounds for replacement.
Support requirements
Alito products are not structural support materials. They must be adequately supported in all applications. A 2 cm thickness is suitable for countertops and vertical surfaces like walls and full-height backsplashes.
Finishes
Alito’s honed or matte finishes may show surface markings from regular use, but these can be easily cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth; mild soap can be used if desired. These finishes do not shine and may appear soiled in high-traffic areas.
Installation
Proper preparation of walls and cabinets is essential for successful installation. Ensure that walls and cabinets are structurally sound, straight, level, and square to avoid poor installation outcomes and uneven seams.
